The Viatores Quartet is a young and up-and-coming string quartet based in Berlin. In January 2024 they were awarded first prize at the Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Competition and the prize of the Freunde Junge Musiker.

The quartet has recently given performances in renowned concert venues including the Berlin Philharmonic and the Konzerthaus Berlin and in november 2023, the group was invited to perform Hindemith's 5th String Quartet at the Hindemith-Tagen in Frankfurt.

The Viatores Quartet is increasingly in demand on the concert stage, and upcoming performances will take them to cities such as Cologne, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Bremen, as well as Austria, Turkey and Great Britain. Upcoming performances are planned at the Espresso concert series in the Berlin Konzerthaus, Klassik im Spandau, and at the AIMA Festival, as well as a collaboration with SWR2 in the Fürstliches Saal Trier. Next year will also see the production and release of their first CD album under the recording label “Betont”.

The Viatores Quartet was founded in early 2023 at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik Berlin, where they study with Professor Johanna Staemmler from the Armida Quartet. In October 2023, the group began their studies with Professor Tabea Zimmermann. The quartet took part in the "Quartet-Lab" course at Villa Musica, where they worked intensively with Professor Oliver Wille from the Kuss Quartet in Engers Castle. In November er 2023 the quartet received the David Shallon Scholarship to further support their development as an ensemble.

In October 2024, the quartet began their master's program at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (HMTMH) under the guidance of Professor Oliver Wille.

The quartet consists of four young musicians and takes its name from the Latin term "Viatores", which means travelers. As the name suggests, the quartet proudly represents four different origins and cultures from three different continents, united by a common goal.
